Thanks for visiting, and hope to see you at the new site!!! Halloween UpdateHalloween has again come and gone, and every year we vow to work on the kids' costumes earlier and harder. Never happens.
Well, here are the pictures from this year's get together...
Baby GamesWell, you wouldn't believe it unless you saw it... that is, unless you know Mike and I.
We bought a Little Tykes plastic jungle gym-esque monstrosity, and since it's getting too cold outside, we brilliant-minded individuals decided to assemble it in the livingroom. It is now the focal point of my house. It's quite amusing for the neighbors as they walk by and see a rainbow colored castle jutting through the middle of the room. At its tallest point, it is 5 feet tall, and it's about 2/3 as long as the whole livingroom. It has two slides, a tunnel, tons of holes to climb through, a working door and windows in a little home-like cubicle. The girls have been going nuts over it.
Emma prefers to stick her head out of the little window and yell things that only a little Chinese woman could understand. Then Alison comes by and pokes her in the chest and says, "Emma... DOWN!" "Sit DOWN." "DOOOOWN!"
The newest development is the girls' obsession with giving kisses. They have now discovered that they don't need to wait until mommy, daddy, grandpa, etc... is nearby to give kisses. They now know that they can give kisses to sisters just as easily. So that's what they have done all day today. They lean waaayyy forward and kiss a sister, then giggle and run away. Alison and Emma were the first to invent the game, then Kristin wanted to get in on it, so Emma was getting all sorts of kisses from both her sisters. It was pretty silly - the whole mess of it - but once they wound down for the night, they finally laid off a bit. I was beginning to feel unnecessary and unloved.
So, for all of this new-found energy, I have Ed to thank. (He's the one that found the gym at a garage sale.) Thanks ED!!!

America's Best Inn in Dubuque
and I've been getting the runaround about
being double charged for a room there back
in July! I told him it's getting to the point
that I'm not going to fight the charge anymore
and I'm going to have my friend fight it
for me who works for a credit union.
He says some of his coworkers have
nothing better to do than to call and
harass some of these idiots all day long.
After I said that, the guy at the hotel
said he'd take care of it, and I told him I
wanted the money back in my account by
early next week. Let's see if it happens! |
